Effects of transcranial direct current stimulation on COVID-19 neurological symptoms: a mini-review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction: COVID-19 patients can experience long-term effects including neurological symptoms as part of the long COVID syndrome. The most common associated with this syndrome are cognitive impairments, such brain fog, memory issues or loss concentration, and mood changes, depression anxiety. Non-invasive stimulation, for instance, transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), is a treatment currently being tested to improve deficits disorders in COVID. Methods: We performed systematic literature search articles on non-invasive stimulation. Electronic searches were MEDLINE (via PubMed) Cochrane databases. Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal tool was used quality assessment. Data regarding population, intervention, outcomes, study design, sources funding collected. Results: returned 21 articles, which two case reports included discussion. Three treated tDCS. Although these studies reported promising results, they had methodological differences, no control groups sample size insufficient draw definitive conclusions. Discussion: Neuromodulation treatments like tDCS considered treat COVID, since have been found cognition, but so far only observational few patients. In future, randomized clinical trials using impairment might demonstrate effectiveness intervention.

Efficacy of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation on BDNF and Psychological Symptoms in Opioid Addicted Patients
Introduction: Addiction to opioids is a serious problem and concern in any nation today. Unfortunately, the rate of taking these drugs and addiction to them has drastically increased. This research aimed at the study of the degree of the BDNF serum level, reducing depression, stress and also studied the diminishing the craving by means of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in opioi...
متن کاملW6: Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation Workshop
It is an Intensive 1-day course for introducing utilizing transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in an applied format. This technique is a noninvasive brain stimulation that uses direct electrical currents over the head to stimulate specific parts of the brain which modulates neuronal activity. It has strong potentiality in the field of medical and neuroscientific research. Anodal stimu...
متن کاملP153: Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) for the Treatment of PTSD: A Brief Review of Effectiveness
Cognitive neuroscience prefers a reductionist approach to normal and abnormal brain functions. So, it tries to reducing causes and indices of cognitive and neural processes, in order to increases the accuracy in investigation and manipulation of variables. As a comparison, common diagnostic criteria for mental disorders utilize multidimensional global criteria that existence of some non-overlap...
متن کاملNeurobiological Effects of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation: A Review
Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) is a non-invasive brain stimulation technique that is affordable and easy to operate compared to other neuromodulation techniques. Anodal stimulation increases cortical excitability, while the cathodal stimulation decreases it. Although tDCS is a promising treatment approach for chronic pain as well as for neuropsychiatric diseases and other neurol...
